"Invigorating. Nothing short of extraordinary." -Alex Lei, In Review Online
“Myung’s film knows what it’s after. More Bujalski than Safdie (which is to say more melancholic than anxious), Softshell delivers the primary formal components of mumblecore.” - Rebecca Turner, Screen Slate
"Shot on 16mm, the debut feature builds on Myung’s influences but is extremely of the moment.” - Vadim Rizov, Filmmaker Magazine
"A vibrant work that harkens back to the spirit of truly independent American cinema of the 80s and 90s, while having so much to say about life today.”-Eric Allen Hatch, Director of Programming New/Next Film Festival
