BY JACLYN BETHANY, 2025
Catalog Number: FTF-178
Length: 82 minutes
In a small town in Maine, Lucy tends bar at the local dive where she’s worked for years, content in the rhythms of her quiet life with her longtime boyfriend, Tom. But when Ilse, a mysterious older artist adrift in her own life, asks Lucy to model for her, each woman stirs in the other the possibility of a different kind of meaning. Just as Lucy learns the bar is being sold and the life she’s built may be slipping away, she has to reckon with what she truly wants.

PRESS
"Jennifer Ehle and Alex Sarrigeorgiou shine in Jaclyn Bethany’s hushed yet deeply felt drama of art and desire.” - Glenn Garner, Deadline
"In Transit takes the quiet way to the back of the drama barn and blows the doors right off it.” - Michael Talbot-Haynes, Film Threat
“A lovely new entry in existential cinema, centering queer women and letting its characters languish and ponder their place in the world while finding comfort in each other.” - Kate Beach, Movie Jawn
"The feel of a rigorous novella that Patricia Highsmith might have written. It is the little conversations, the shrewd looks, affectionate glances and shifting emotions that serve to mark out their time together as significant.” - Allan Hunter, Screen Daily
"A quiet piece of work dedicated to the way the process of making art changes everyone it touches. In Transit captures the loneliness of creation as it mixes with the hope that an act means more than it does.” - Tina Kakadelis, Beyond the Cinerama Dome
