ABOUT THE MUSIC:

"In a stucco tile peeling off the corner - short circuit neon flickers on a cracked mirror over a scuzzy fossitwith pubic hairs encrusted in heaven’s Mcdonald’s… The ecstasy of a locked door. The moments of personal bliss away from the noise of the wretched streets. red bull logo - it’s serenity. synthetic artificial candy opiated bliss. cough drop. christmas eve temporary relief - warmth found in the bosom of a bathroom of a department store.” - Ariel Pink

Limited Edition Pink Ninja Star shaped 7" with Original Songs by Ariel Pink for the Film: HEAVEN KNOW'S WHAT a Film by Josh and Benny Safdie with a B-Side collaboration between Ariel Pink and Dev Hynes. Side A: Ariel Pink created over two hours of music for HEAVEN KNOWS WHAT. On this 7" you'll hear I NEED A MINUTE, his song that closes HEAVEN KNOWS WHAT. Side B: Heaven Can't Wait shows a collaboration between Ariel Pink and Devonte Hynes (Blood Orange/Lightspeed Champion), while Dev was in LA. Dev saw the film at the New York Film Festival and brought the lasting memory to the recording. Track was done over two sessions. Despite it's beauty and weirdo-disney-like vibes, the song didn't end up getting used in the film but now exists exclusively on this Ninja Star shaped vinyl.

ABOUT THE FILM (Released by Radius):

Harley loves Ilya. He gives her life purpose and sets her passion ablaze. So, when he asks her to prove her love by slitting her wrists, she obliges with only mild hesitation, perhaps because of her other all-consuming love: heroin.

Directed by filmmakers Josh and Benny Safdie (DADDY LONGLEGS, BLACK BALOON, THE PLEASURE OF BEING ROBBED) and written by Josh Safdie and Ronnald Bronstien (FROWNLAND), HEAVEN KNOWS WHAT blends fiction, formalism and raw vérité as it follows a young heroin addict (Arielle Holmes) who finds mad love in the streets of New York. The film—which world premiered at Venice (where it won the CICAE award) and subsequently played NYFF, Toronto and SXSW among other prestigious festivals—is based on Holmes’ soon-to-be-published memoir Mad Love in New York City.  Co-starring Caleb Landry-Jones (X-MEN: FIRST CLASS, BYZANTIUM), HEAVEN KNOWS WHAT also features street legend Buddy Duress and gore rap phenom Necro.
